FUD Zilla claims AMD will release the Barts-based Radeon HD 6870 and 6850 graphics cards on October 22nd. These new cards should be available at launch, but those looking for the highest performance will have to wait for the Cayman-based Radeon HD 6900 series as these parts are the real successor to the Radeon HD 5800 line. The launch of Cayman is slated for sometime later this year.
The two cards launching on Friday are the Radeon HD 6870, with 1GB GDDR5 as well as HDMI,DVI-I, DVI-D and Dual mini DisplayPort outputs, and the Radeon HD 6850, also with 1GB GDDR5, DVI-I and DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPort.
