AMD Radeon HD 6900 series architectural improvements revealed

Slides from an AMD press event detail several of the architectural improvements in the Radeon HD 6900 series. This includes the new VLIW4 core architecture, more SIMD engines and texture units, upgraded render back-ends, new GPU Compute features, higher tessellation performance, power containment, Enhanced Quality Anti-Aliasing (EQAA) and more.
