Microsoft explained at WinHEC that laptop computers still aren't as convenient as they need to be. Mobile computers are still big and battery lives too short, said Bill Mitchsel, VP of Microsoft's Windows Mobile Platforms Division. Tables PCs are also not satisfactory so Microsoft presented a new concept called Ultra Mobile 2007.

The Ultra Mobile 2007 concept was presented as a device running on Longhorn - it is just a little bit bigger than current handhelds.
The company has great hopes for this concept. It hopes to have 100 million Ultra Mobile 2007 devices in users' hands by 2008.
