AMD cuts prices and rolls out Radeon HD 6950 1GB

To counteract the launch of NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 560 Ti, AMD announced price cuts and the Radeon HD 6950 with 1GB GDDR5.
  • Radeon HD 6870 1GB: drops from $239 to $219
  • Radeon HD 6950 1GB: introduced for $259
  • Radeon HD 6950 2GB: drops from $299 to $269
  • Interestingly, AMD promises the upcoming Catalyst 11.1a driver will heat up the competition even more with significant performance boosts for the Radeon HD 6800/6900 series.
