Smartphones outsold PCs in Q4 2010

TweakTown noticed that last quarter smartphones outsold PCs for the first time:
IDC's latest report shows that smartphone manufacturers shipped 100.9 million devices in Q4 2010, while PC manufacturers shipped 92.1 million units worldwide. This is the first time that smartphones have outsold PC's.

Q4 2009 saw 53.9 million smartphones sold but last years Q4 results were astonishing - an 87.2-percent increase with a whopping 100.9 million sold in a quarter alone. Over the entire year, 302.6 million smartphones were sold, an increase of 74.4-percent from 2009's total of 173.5 million.
