Google is down

Posted on Sunday, May 08 2005 @ 1:17 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck
It happens very rarely, but today is one of those days that Google has some downtime!

At the moment of writing Google is already out for about 30 minutes. Some parts of Google like Google Labs and some IPs of Google data centers are still accessible but many users worldwide report to have problems reaching Google.

Time to crank out Yahoo again for a few hours ;-) To be continued..

Updates:
(1) After 50 minutes of downtime finally some improvement, but still not sure what happened.
(2) Google seems to be back operational after about one hour of problems. Some sites report that Google had been hacked but that isn't true.
(3) Google had DNS problems

read it and weep. BTW, this is not the same screenshot that has been floating around the net. Look at the bookmarks. We pulled this up at about 4:30 mountain daylight savings time. Google got owned!

I don't want to point out that you are clueless, but here goes.
You are wrong. Google wasn't hacked, that's just your browser redirecting to google.com.net because .com was down.
Maybe a little insight into how your browser operates woudl help you navigate away from being a fool next time.
