Microsoft says it's high time to say goodbye to Internet Explorer 6 and has opened a countdown website to move the world off IE6. This new website is dedicated to watching IE6 usage drop to less than 1 percent worldwide, compared to 12 percent in February 2011. It seems the most avid IE6 users are found in Asia, the aging web browser still commands 34.5 percent of the market in China and even in South Korea it's still 24.8 percent.
10 years ago a browser was born.

Its name was Internet Explorer 6. Now that we’re in 2011, in an era of modern web standards, it’s time to say goodbye.

This website is dedicated to watching Internet Explorer 6 usage drop to less than 1% worldwide, so more websites can choose to drop support for Internet Explorer 6, saving hours of work for web developers.
