A while ago LucidLogix introduced Virtu, a graphics virtualization technology that enables desktop PCs to automatically switch between integrated graphics and discrete graphics. The technology is expected to get some competition though, as SemiAccurate heard that both AMD and NVIDIA are developing their own graphics switching technology.
Meanwhile LucidLogix's Virtu technology is nowhere to be found, as motherboard makers have little interest in paying $5 or more per license when a free alternative will be available in the next few months.
