ASRock prepping three Z68 motherboards

Posted on Monday, April 25 2011 @ 22:17:38 CEST by

TC Mag has details about three upcoming Intel Z68 based motherboards from ASRock, you can check it out over here. The Z68 Extreme4 is the most advanced model, it offers three PCIe x16 slots, while the other boards have to do with just one.
All three boards feature support for Sandy Bridge processors, for LucidLogix's Virtu software (enabling real-time graphics switching), and the Smart Response Technology aka SSD Caching which allows for the pairing up of an SSD and one (or more) HDDs in a hybrid setup, and includes multiple display outputs - D-Sub, DVI and HDMI (the Z68 Extreme4 and Z68 Pro3-M also include a DisplayPort output).

The Z68 motherboards also come with four DDR3-2133 memory slots, two (four on the Extreme4) SATA 6.0 Gbps and four SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, USB 3.0 connectors (the Extreme4 includes an USB 3.0 header too), UEFI BIOS, the Combo Cooler Option (enables the use of LGA775/1155/1156 coolers), and the XFast USB technology for higher USB 3.0 transfer speeds.
