Worm spreads political propaganda spam

Normally spam messages try to sell all kinds of products but since Sunday people from all over the world are receiving political spam messages. If you have received a large amount of additional spam since Sunday it is likely to come from the Sober.Q worm as many users have received tens or hundreds of these mails.

The spam is spread by computers infected with the Sober.Q worm. The messages are either in English or German and they do not contain the worm, the e-mails only link to genuine sites with articles.

Experts believe the virus author might be a neo-nazi sympathizer because some of the spam mails generated by the Sober.Q worm link to websites or news articles which could be used to support anti-immigrant views. One of the German e-mails for instance says has a subject which means "Multicultural = multicriminal" and other mails link to articles regarding the Dresden bombing in 1945 but there appear to be more than twenty different subjects.
