Samsung starts mass production of MMCmicro cards

Samsung began mass production of thumbnail-sized MMCmicro memory cards, designed for use in cell phones. The cards are small and feature a low power consumption.

The cards will become available in 32MB, 64MB, 128MB and 256MB capacities. A 512MB version will come within three months and a 2GB memory card will follow in the first half of next year.

The Samsung MMCmicro cards measure 12x14x1.1mm and can read data at 10Mbit/s and write data at 7Mbit/sec
