Maingear introduced EPIC X2, a new line of watercooling products for GPUs. The product is manufactured by CoolIT and is designed for Maingear's SHIFT PC.
MAINGEAR, an award-winning custom PC builder offering custom desktops, custom notebooks, pc workstations and media centers has just added the ability to liquid cool dual graphics by CoolIT for their SHIFT, making it the world’s only fully-enclosed, maintenance-free, 100% liquid cooled PC currently on the market capable of housing the most powerful dual GPU solutions.
At MAINGEAR EPIC (Enhanced Performance Innovative Components) Research Labs, where MAINGEAR explores and tests the latest technology and tests to find ways to enhance the PC experience, the system builder has collaborated with CoolIT to design the EPIC X2 line of graphics cooling solutions. These liquid cooling solutions are for dual graphics that offer a closed-loop, maintenance free design powered by the same exclusive MAINGEAR EPIC 180 radiator that is used in MAINGEAR’s EPIC CPU liquid cooling solution. Combined with the EPIC 140 CPU cooler and the SHIFT can now be configured for GPU and CPU cooling, all with closed-loop, maintenance free high performance solutions. This provides efficient use of space inside the chassis while offering a clean, quiet and simple liquid cooling solution for graphics.
The MAINGEAR EPIC X2 cooling solution is available for the dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 (a.k.a EPIC 590 X2), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 (a.k.a EPIC 580 X2) and will be soon be available for the AMD Radeon 6990 (a.k.a. EPIC 6990 X2). The MAINGEAR EPIC 590 X2 liquid cooling solution is 18 degrees Celsius cooler is 12 decibels quieter under load compared to dual cards that do not have any liquid cooling solution. Furthermore, unlike other liquid cooling solutions, the EPIC X2 series is fully user upgradeable, as the cold plates are interchangeable with interposers that can be created for future graphic solutions.
