IBM to launch 32-way Xeon Xseries 460

IBM will start offer 32-way Xeon xSeries 460 servers in July. A 16-way system will also be released by that date while four-way and eight-way systems are planned for later this month.
Target applications for the x460 include database serving, enterprise resource planning, customer-relationship management, and server consolidation. Pricing for a typical eight-way configuration of the x460 will start at $72,182.
