Half-Life 2….is it finished yet?

I will start by saying that I am by no stretch of the imagination an avid gamer, but I love deathmatching and when I want to play a game I expect it to work properly. Of all the games I have installed and played I have never encountered anything requiring as many updates and patches as Half-Life 2, and of those I have had to patch to fix none have been more problematic than HL2.ost game patches fix problems with the software, but Valve has seemingly attempted to make the game more and more unplayable with each fix they roll out.
