Why are notebook mice so annoying?

I mostly rely on my notebook computer for portable computing. It comes in quite handy when I have to write articles on the go or simply browse the Internet comfortably when I’m away from my desk. While I thoroughly enjoy the portability factor and dearly appreciate it, I find it painful to work with the built in "mouse pad". It just doesn’t have the fast response time that the desktop mice do. In addition to that, sometimes when I have to click on a minute link or really need the mouse to be stable, it’s not cooperative. With that said, the diminutive red button that is usually integrated in the center of the notebook comes in handy. Read more at CTZ
