ULi launches M1757 southbridge with SATA II support

ULi presented its M1575 southbridge with Serial ATA II support at Computex. Mass production of this chip will start in July or August. The chipset is made on 130nm by UMC and is designed as a choice for motherboards utilizing ATI's northbridges.

The M1575 also supports Ultra ATA/133, HD audio, RAID, eight USB 2.0 ports and up to six PCI connections. The company says Asus and Gigabyte are considering to launch motherboards with the M1575 southbridge. More details at DigiTimes
