DigiTimes reports motherboard makers are seeing a big hit in shipments due to HDD shortages:
Despite that Intel is set to launch its latest high-end X79 chipset soon, motherboard players are reducing their shipment forecasts for the fourth quarter due to hard drive shortages which have significantly impacted the demand in the PC DIY market. Asustek Computer currently expects its shipments to drop more than 10% sequentially, up from less than 5% originally and Gigabyte Technology expects a drop of more than 20%, up from 10-15%, according to a Chinese-language Apple Daily report.
