ASUS sets 2012 shipment goals

DigiTimes reports Asustek has set its 2012 shipment goals, you can read the full article over here. Motherboard shipments are expected to hit 24.5-25 million units in the new year, a 5 percent rise from this year's 23 million units.
Asustek Computer, at its global sales meeting on December 5, has set the shipment goals for its four major product lines for 2012 with notebooks and netbooks together to surpass 22 million units and the company internally expecting shipments to reach 23.8 million units, while tablet PCs will reach at least three million units with the company internally expecting the volume to reach six million units, surpassing Samsung Electronics.

In 2011, Asustek will ship 14.7 million notebooks and 4.8 netbooks and with the internal goal of shipping more than 23 million units in 2012, the company expects its ranking will surpass Dell and challenge the third largest notebook vendor worldwide. Asustek's traditional notebook shipments in 2012 are expected to reach 19.3-19.8 million units with Eee PC to continue to face a shipment decline.

As for tablet PCs, Asustek expects its shipments will reach about 1.8 million units in 2011.
