Bench House has reviewed the Microstar 648 MAX :
The feel of working with the MSI 648 Max board is really pleasant. Great performance and a lack of bottlenecks when running apps are there with every click. Everything runs perfectly fast and stable. I have to admit that in the previous 645DX chipset test, I was quite skeptical and doubtful, but the predecessor and even more the successor in the form of the 648 model dispelled my disbelief and any prejudices I had that only Intel can make a good and fast chipset for the P4 platform. We also mustn’t forget a very important fact, and that is that for many years now, SiS has been using the strong support from Intel, which is determined this time to put an end to VIA P4 chipsets. You don’t have to be a genius to look back and see that SiS always supported the Intel platform with their best products. This could not have been possible without strong support from Intel.
