Yahoo's new service to search subscription sites

Yahoo has launched yet another search engine called Yahoo Search Subscriptions. The new search engine will give users the ability to search information on password-protected subscription sites such as ConsumerReports.org, Wall Street Journal Online, New England Journal of Medicine and Forrester Research and others.

Users can see the content from sites they subscribe to, while nonsubscribers have the option of paying to see it.
Yahoo, which does not currently have revenue-sharing relationships with the information providers, more than a year ago started a content-acquisition program and plans to add more sources to its subscription search site, said Mandelbrot.
The new service can be found at http://search.yahoo.com/subscriptions. More details at Reuters
