Eurocom announces it has expanded its notebook and mobile workstation storage options with several mSATA drives:
Eurocom Corporation (www.eurocom.com), a developer of long lifespan, high performance, fully upgradable Notebooks and Mobile Workstations has been testing, benchmarking (below) and is now adding several choices of mSATA drives to its high performance notebooks computers.

The mSATA drives offered in the EUROCOM Neptune 2.0 and Racer 2.0 allow for enhanced configuration options, increased storage capacity, caching and upgrade capability. Another very important feature of an mSATA drive is the ability to use the mSATA SSD as a boot drive for speed alongside a large capacity hard drive.

“The addition of the mSATA drive to our lineup of configuration options opens the door for our customers to do even more with our Notebooks and Mobile Workstations” explains Mark Bialic, Eurocom President “Increased storage capacity, caching and boot drive capability are just the start of what it offers our clients. Existing customer can also easily upgrade their current systems with mSATA drives from Eurocom as well.”

With the combination of an mSATA SSD and a Hard Drive users can take advantage of the supported Intel Smart Response Technology to speed up application loading, system boot times and frequently accessed software. This is done by intelligently learning or loading what customers use the most to a high performance Solid State drive for fast access and loading.

mSATA Solid State Drives have several benefits over traditional storage mediums, mainly, energy consumption, small size, fast read write speeds and caching capability.

Eurocom offers mSATA choices from 20GB to 256 GB, MLC to SLC, SATA III (6 GB/s) and SATA II (3 GB/s) to ensure Eurocom customers have the perfect tool for the job. Eurocom currently offers the following mSATA storage options in Eurocom systems as well as upgrade options to existing customers:

  • 20GB mSATA SSD; SLC; Intel 313 Series; 3Gb/s; 25nm; Hawley Creek SSDMAEXC020G301
  • 24GB mSATA SSD; SLC; Intel 313 Series; 3Gb/s; 25nm; Hawley Creek SSDMAEXC024G301
