New details about Office 2013 RT have hit the wire. According to The Verge, the ARM version of Microsoft's new office suite will not be ready by the time the software giant launches its Windows RT platform. The first Windows RT ARM-based tablets will arrive later this year with a Office 2013 RT Preview version, and will be upgradeable to a final copy that will be made available in early 2013.

The site also received word that Microsoft dropped several features from Office 2013 RT "to ensure battery life and reliability are not impacted on tabler devices". Features that were reportedly axed from Office 2013 RT include macros, VBA support and third-party add-ins, as well as "a small number" of other features.
We'll have to wait for Microsoft to detail all of its changes, but although a spokesperson says the company has "not finalized any packaging," we understand that Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 RT Preview will come preinstalled on all Windows RT devices.
