Synology presents the DiskStation DS213, a 2-bay NAS server with two USB 3.0 ports.
Synology Inc. today launched the DiskStation DS213, a feature-rich 2-bay NAS server that delivers an optimal price-to-performance solution to share and protect data for office and workgroup environments.

The introduction of DS213 continues Synology's dedication to create one of the most easy-to-use and efficient storage solutions to satisfy the demands of our beloved users, said Darren Lin, product manager at Synology Inc. The DS213 features Web Assistant, an intuitive web-based system that completes installation and setup in only a few clicks. Combined with the Quick Start widget, users can simultaneously tour the DSM and begin immediate use.

Powered by a 2.0 GHz processor and 512 MB memory, the DS213 delivers an average read and write speed of 108.41 MB/sec and 65.36 MB/sec respectively under RAID 1 configuration in a Windows environment. Designed as a cool, quiet, and energy efficient NAS server, the DS213 operates a 92 mm fan with smart airflow design to keep the system running cool 24/7; noise level is simultaneously minimized to 19.9 dB(A) through noise dampening design that is much quieter compared to PC equivalents.

The DS213 is equipped with one SD card slot and two USB 3.0 ports that support transmission speeds up to 5 Gbps for improved data transfer rate to external hard drives. Front mount hot-swappable hard drives are available on Synology DS213 to ensure continuous data availability without unexpected service downtime while simplifying maintenance and hard drive replacement.

The DS213 runs DiskStation Manager 4.0 (DSM 4.0), the operating system of every Synology NAS Server. DSM 4.0 provides rich features to boost user-productivity and simplify their tasks, all on a sleek user interface optimized for multitasking.
