Sun launches first laptop

Sun Microsystems launched its first laptop on Monday, saying the machine is aimed at scientists and engineers who want to perform demanding tasks away from their desk.

The Ultra 3 Mobile Workstation will be priced at $3,400 and will include a Sun Ultrasparc processor, Solaris 10 OS, 512MB memory, a 40GB hard drive and Wi-Fi connectivity.
