AMD Athlon II X2 280 dual-core budget chip is out

TPU reports AMD has another 45nm "Regor" based chip; the Athlon II X2 280.

This new budget dual-core processor is based on the company's K10.5 architecture, it has two cores clocked at 3.6GHz, 1MB L2 cache per core (2MB total), SSE3/SSE4A support, and a dual-channel integrated memory controller that supports DDR2 and DDR3 memory. The TDP is 65W.

Designed for entry-level systems, this chip has a MSRP of $49.99.
