Word is going around on the web that HP is working on Android-based tablets. Neowin writes the devices could be officially announced in the very near future and that the device will use NVIDIA's upcoming Tegra 4 SoC.
ReadWrite.com reports, via unnamed sources, that the tablet has been in development since the fall of 2012 and will run on NVIDIA's recently revealed, and highly powerful, Tegra 4 processor. No other details about the HP tablet were revealed.

HP famously launched the WebOS-based TouchPad tablet in July 2011 but sales were so bad that HP shut down production of the tablet just a month later. HP launched a number of Windows 8-based touchscreen laptops and convertibles in the last few months, but the only true Windows 8 tablet that has has been released by HP so far is the ElitePad 900.
