Antec and ThermalTake shifting focus to emerging markets

DigiTimes reports DIY PC component makers Antec and ThermalTake are increasingly shifting their focus from North America and Western Europe to China and Taiwan, and now also to emerging markets in Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia.
In addition to its offices in the UK, France, Italy, Spain and North America, Antec also has offices in Beijing, China and Taiwan and is set to push into countries such as Russia, the Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia and Turkey in the second half.

Because of dropping prices of brand PCs, the PC DIY market has been shrinking for the past few years, leaving the surviving players to either continue operating in the market for the leftovers or head into emerging markets for new opportunities.

Apart from seeking new incomes, the top-four PC DIY players, Antec, Thermaltake, Cooler Master and Corsair have also started adjusting their product mixes to filter out poor performing products and save marketing costs.
