Big Taiwanese motherboard maker to cut staff?

OCWorkBench heard rumor that a famous Taiwan-based motherboard maker will soon lay off a chunk of its staff as a result of the poor global economy and waning demand for DIY computer components. No names are mentioned, but the largest Taiwanese motherboard makers are Asustek, Gigabyte, ASRock, MSI and ECS, so it's likely one of these firms if this rumor has any truth.
Non managerial staff who has been with the company for over 10 years will be first to be retrenched or regrouped for other jobs. It is unknown which departments will be first to be axed but it is definitely not a very positive sign for the manufacturing and engineering staffs.
