Due to lack of demand, Microsoft decided to give its Surface RT tablet lineup a price cut of $150 versus the October 2012 launch price. The 32GB version now costs $349, while the 64GB model can be bought for $449.
In June, before today's price cuts went into effect, Microsoft offered consumers a way to buy the tablets and they would receive a free Touch or Type cover that are normally priced at $119 or $129, Today's price cut on the tablet itself means that buyers who also get a cover actually save a little bit more money overall versus June's free cover deal.

Keep in mind that qualified students can also get the 32 GB Surface RT for even less money, $199, until August 31st. The deal extends to the Touch Cover, which is priced at just $50 for students, and the Type Cover for $90.
