The Inq learned Intel will soon ship a motherboard with two PCI Express w16 slots.

The board will feature the 955X/iCH7R chipset, USB 2.0, Firewire 800, Gigabit LAN, Serial ATA 300 RAID, one PCI Express x1 and 4 PCI slots.

This motherboard will support ATI's CrossFire and NVIDIA's SLI but it will be up to ATI or NVIDIA to enable it.

We know that the new Nvidia drivers can work even without the bridge between the cards and I guess that it was part of the Nvidia–Intel deal that Intel would be able to use Nvidia SLI architecture in its boards.
