EA screws up SimCity for Mac launch

EA has launched the Mac version of SimCity and it looks like its launch is just as flawed as the launch of the original SimCity earlier this year. I gave up playing the PC version months ago due to many game-breaking bugs in the game, the worst being issues with EA's servers that caused save games to go permanently corrupt. Anyway, it seems a lot of the bugs in the game are yet to be fixed, and now Mac users are getting their own botched launch. Engadget reports many users are running into installation and gameplay issues - which are described by EA as "a few bumps in the road".
Unfortunately, the arrival isn't going terribly smoothly for some, with user complaints ranging from installation issues to the game running only in a windowed mode. Put simply, SimCity for Mac is unplayable for some, and it's an unfortunate situation that's eerily reminiscent of its launch on the PC. A Maxis spokesperson tells us that its live support team is actively working with players that've encountered trouble, and for what it's worth, installation of SimCity for Mac went off without a hitch on our end.
