Before launching the R520 and the R580, ATI will introduce the Radeon X800 GT to the high-end graphics market. The Radeon X800 GT will be one of the cheaper Radeon X800 family members and won't support CrossFire.

Competitor NVIDIA will launch its GeForce 7800 GT within two weeks. The card will be available in stores on August 11 and some sources claim prices may be as low as $399.

ATI also informed graphics card markers that it will increase the market development fund (MDF) for its Radeon X800 product line to $50 per card in order to compete better with NVIDIA. More info at DigiTimes
