The optical storage market is filled with many reputable brand names that offer an abundance of features combined with fast writing speeds. For most consumers an optical drive is a very cost effective investment since it provides so many advantages in terms being a cheap storage alternative. The popularity of audio applications as well as the price of CDR Media has confirmed that optical drives are mandatory for most computer systems. Recently, there has been a shift in terms of attention from big name companies such as HP, Yamaha and Plextor to the lesser known Lite-On IT Corp based out of Taiwan. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Lite On LTR-40125S 40x12x48x CD-ReWriter, an optical storage drive which has gained the reputation as one of the fastest drives on the planet
