Sometimes we wonder how accurate these marketshare reports really are but if NetMarketShare is to believed Windows 7 not only remained the most dominant browser in March 2015 but actually managed to increase its share by a 2.05 percent versus the month before to 58.04 percent in March.

Windows XP is still the second most-used operating system with a marketshare of 16.94 percent, which is a sharp decline from February's 19.15 percent.

Meanwhile, Windows 8.1 barely rose from 10.49 percent to 10.55 percent in the same timeframe, and 3.52 percent of the market is still using the redundant Windows 8 version.

Mac OS X remains stable at 3.96 percent of the market and Linux accounts for a mere 1.50 percent of the PC userbase. The statistics from NetMarketShare also reveal that 0.09 percent is running the Windows 10 Technical Preview, a very slight increase from last month' 0.08 percent.
