NVIDIA's Quadro FX 3450 is based on the GeForce 6600GT

NVIDIA recently launched the Quadro FX 3450 graphics card for the professional market and The Inquirer heard at Siggraph that this card is based on the GeForce 6600GT (NV47).

The Quadro FX 4500 on the other hand is based on the GeForce 7800 GTX (G70).
It's funny to notice that Quadro still has this nasty FX suffix that Nvidia killed with the failure of NV30 generation of cards. It works well for Quadro FX as Nvidia is the performance leader in this market, but things might change in the next few months when the FireGL generation gets updated with its R520 brother.
