ATI's FireGL won't start using CrossFire for now

Posted on Wednesday, August 10 2005 @ 11:26:10 CEST by

ATI's professional graphics cards will not use ATI's CrossFire for now.
The workstation market its all about certification and stability and the certification part takes a lot of time, money and effort. What we believe might happen is that ATI will try to make Crossfire stable on the desktop and once it is happy with the performance and stability it will just migrate toward the serious workstation stuff. More info at The Inquirer
NVIDIA's new professional cards like the Quadro FX 4500 already feature support for SLI.
