Word is going around that the Universal Stylus Initiative (USI) will reveal a new stylus standard in December. The initiate was started by Intel with the goal of creating an official standard for a stylus that can be used across platforms.
Many new members have also joined USI such as Asustek Computer, Quanta Computer, LG Electronics, Parade Technologies and STMicroelectronics with total member number expecting to surpass 30 by the end of 2015.

Starting early 2016, products that support the USI standard will be able to put the USI certification label on their devices.

In addition to IT players, writing instrument vendor Montblanc has also joined USI.
The report also mentions that Dell will reveal several 2-in-1 devices and All-in-One PCs with USI stylus support in the final quarter of this year, while HP plans to launch three products with USI support in early 2016.
