Thermalright showcases its Macho Direct, a new tower cooler with five 6mm direct-touch heatpipes. The cooler measures 152mm x 129mm x 158mm (L x W x H) and weighs 660g, it features a large aluminium fin array and is cooled by the firm's 140mm TY-140 Black PWM fan.

The Macho Direct can be found online for 47.27EUR (incl. 19% VAT).
With the Macho Direct we offer a high-performance HDT CPU-Cooler. The Cooler is based on the well-known Macho design and is the first choice for price conscious users. The silent optimized cooler offers superior cooling performance with no frills at a very attractive price.

The original conception of the Macho has been maintained: The heat sink is aligned to the rear of the PC case, which ensures that even when using ram modules with high-rising heat spreaders no incompatibilities will arise. The aluminum cooling fins are perforated by a plurality of air holes, which counteract air accumulation between the cooling fins.

The Macho Direct makes use of the Heatpipe Direct Touch principle. A total of five high-performance 6 mm heatpipes provide the most efficient dissipation of the generated processor heat. The heatpipes are, as usual, in a concave form. This patented design of the heatpipes, which are intentionally not ground flat, gives the Macho Direct an outstanding cooling performance for a HDT cooler.

Another advantage of the HDT-Design is the reduced installation height. The HDT-Cooler is 4 mm lower than the Macho, so it will also fit in cases where the "normal" Macho is too high.

The special design of the heatsink’s aluminum fins allows for a particularly low air resistance. The additional perforation of the cooling fins acts against heat buildup between the individual lamellae layers and supports the efficient temperature reduction.

A temperature-controlled TY-140 Black (PWM) is included with the cooler. The fan has been optimized for the Macho Direct. With a rotation speed that ranges from 300 to 1,300 rpm the fan runs especially quiet. The TY-140 Black features a low-wear “Enhanced Hyper-Flow Bearing”.

The air flow varies between 28.7 and an impressive 125 m³/h. The proven fan with its unique design features the mounting points of a conventional 120 mm fan and has a larger inner diameter than conventional 140 mm fans. The fan is fitted securely to the heatsink with the included, revised fan brackets – specially designed anti-vibration pads allow for decoupled mounting.

A universal mounting kit is included with the Macho Direct that supports all current Intel- and AMD sockets (Intel LGA1156/1155/2011/1150/2011-3/1151 und AMD AM2/AM2+/AM3/FM1/FM2/FM2+).

Also included in the package is again our popular Thermalright Screwdriver, with the magnetic tip. The equipment is completed by the excellent Thermalright Chill Factor thermal paste (blister).

We strongly recommend that you follow the instructions of the manual for applying the thermal grease. The preferred "pea" method is not practical for this cooler.
