Bethesda officially announced Skyrim Special Edition, a remastered version of the game that arrives on October 28th. This one is primarily for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the remaster of this five year old game promises to bring PC like quality graphics to console gamers.

The Special Edition will feature a bunch of graphical updates for the console platform, as well as the addition of mod support. All official add-ons will also be included.

PC gamers who own Skyrim Legendary Edition or the base game and all of its DLC via Steam will be able to get a free upgrade to the Skyrim Special Edition. It's not exactly clear at the moment how the Special Edition differs from the PC version of the Legendary Edition.
