DigiTimes writes ASUS anticipates it will sell around 1 million laptops this year, with the ROG gaming laptops accounting for 700,000 to 800,000 units. While the overall PC market is struggling, gaming PCs are doing rather well as illustrated by these figures from ASUS:
Shen said the company's gaming PC shipments including notebooks and desktops, grew 60% sequentially in the second quarter and he expects third-quarter shipments to grow another 50%.

Shen expects the worldwide gaming PC market to see an annual growth rate of around 20-30% each year over the next few years.
ASUS president Jerry Shen also revealed that the company is working on an in-house VR headset, this product will be shown at CES 2017 in January.
