Razer rolled out the Kraken Pro V2 and Kraken 7.1 V2 gaming headsets. The new Kraken generation features larger 50mm drivers with custom tuning for improved balance between in-game audio and team communications, a unibody made from aluminium and enhanced wearing comfort.

Pricing is $79.99 (89.99EUR) for the stereo Kraken Pro V2 gaming headset, or $99.99 ($109.99) for the Kraken 7.1 V2 digital USB headset. The latter model not only has 7.1 virtual surround sound, but also active noise cancellation for the microphone and a LED-backlit Razer logo. Both models will be available worldwide in October.
Razer, the leading lifestyle brand for gamers, today announced the all-new Razer Kraken Pro V2 and Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 gaming headsets. They bring a comprehensive list of new updates to the original design to meet the increased demands of esports athletes and enthusiast gamers today.

Razer Kraken Pro V2 gaming headset:

50 mm audio drivers for balanced in-game audio and communications
Improved audio performance in the Razer Kraken V2 headsets center around two custom-tuned 50 mm drivers. These are larger than those found in previous generation Kraken headsets, delivering a wider frequency range that is perfectly balanced between in-game audio and team communications.

The Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 also features an advanced 7.1 virtual surround sound engine that allows complete customization to pinpoint positional audio specific to an individual gamer.

Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 gaming headset:

Unibody aluminum frame for extended durability
The Razer Kraken V2 headsets are constructed with an all-new unibody aluminum frame that is more durable and flexible than other commonly used headset materials.

It has been tested extensively to withstand drops, bending out of shape, added weight, rough handling, and more. The result is a headset that is truly ready for all the rigors of pro-gaming.

Designed for maximum comfort and zero fatigue
The headband was designed for balanced weight distribution and reduced clamping force to maximize comfort during lengthy gaming sessions.

The ear cushions are larger, softer, and better sound-isolating than before. In addition, they are easily interchangeable, with a choice between circular or oval shaped-designs* allowing for a personalized fit.

In addition, the new ear cushions feature special inmold channels which enable specs-wearing gamers to wear the headset free of strain after extended game play.

*Oval shaped ear cushions sold separately.

Crystal-clear communication
The microphones on both the Razer Kraken Pro V2 and Kraken 7.1 V2 offer a unidirectional recording pattern and convenient retractable design.

Unique to the Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 is an active noise-cancelling digital microphone, activated via Razer Synapse, which lets gamers cut through the noise at LAN events to deliver crisp, clear communication to teammates.

“We designed the Razer Kraken V2 headsets to deliver the best esports-focused experience,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. “Pro-gaming athletes of today will excel thanks to the Razer Kraken V2’s powerful 50mm custom-tuned drivers, highly durable unibody aluminum frame and redesigned ergonomics for maximum comfort.”
