SiS makes deal with Intel to make 533MHz FSB Pentium M chipsets

SiS announced today that it has signed a long-term licensing contract with Intel Mobile Products Group for the manufacture and sale of chipsets supporting the Intel® Pentium M processors with a 533MHz front side bus.

SiS long-term dedication and record of innovative solutions to computer chipset research and commitment have received industry wide recognition.

“SiS will be offering the SiS656MX, SiS649MX, SiSM661MX, SiSM662MX, and SiSM670MX FSB 533MHz chipsets supporting Intel Pentium M processors which will launch SiS entry to new Mobile markets,” said Daniel Chen, the CEO and President of SiS, “These new Mobile chipsets from SiS will provide product options for customers seeking high quality, power responsiveness, and reasonable prices while giving more users the opportunity to experience the advanced performance and outstanding quality of SiS chipset technology.”

The new SiS656MX, SiS649MX, SiSM661MX, SiSM662MX, and SiSM670MX 533FSB mobile chipsets will support either PCI Express technology or AGP8x GPU’s, integrated GPU or open architectures, serving today’s sophisticated market requirements for cost and performance flexibility.
