New benchmark tools from Futuremark are on the way, TechPowerUp heard the company is working on several new tests.

The first new benchmark will use DirectX 12 and will be designed to measure the capabilities of laptops and mainstream video cards. It will be a less hardware-taxing test than Time Spy, similar to how Sky Diver is a lighter test than Fire Strike.

Next is a cross-platform Vulkan test, this benchmark will be released for both Windows and Android platforms. It will be the first Vulkan benchmark in the Futuremark suite.

Third, there will also be some new VR benchmarks for the PC and mobile platfforms.

Futuremark will reveal more details at CES 2017 in early January.
