Acer announced the Veriton 6800 family of desktop PCs. The newest desktop offering from Acer incorporates the Intel 945G chipset and integrated dual core support while delivering Acer's traditionally low total cost of ownership (TCO) without sacrificing reliability. Offering up to an Intel Pentium D Processor 840 and Hyper-Threading technology, the newest members of the Veriton family are packed with features which boost efficiencies and productivity in small-to-medium business (SMB) environments that demand performance.

Designed to improve data security, productivity and data integrity, the newest Veriton family validates Acer's commitment to improving the integration and user friendliness of its products in the business environment. In addition to its professional and modern minimal designs, the new PCs are pre-loaded with Acer eManager 2.0 a software suite that comprises three convenient functions: Acer eLock, Acer eSetting and Acer eRecovery.

Acer eLock simplifies data protection by preventing unauthorized access and blocking writing to flash drives, optical disk or floppy.

Acer eSetting consists of an easy-to-understand user interface that offers a simple way to manage and control all system features. It keeps an eye on overall system health: monitoring hardware components, keeping track of assets and alerting to any hardware changes. Additionally, Acer eSetting makes it possible to view alerts and warnings of potential system problems and to optimize the Windows(R) operating system.

System recovery is useful in many situations and Acer eRecovery has been designed to render all the related operations easy and efficient, while maintaining a very high level of reliability. Acer eRecovery provides a simple utility that provides password protection and the recovery of applications and drivers. A sophisticated image/data backup utility scheme guarantees data security and image/data recovery tools for all users while providing the ability to go back to a previous configuration when a system "hangs up" for any reason.

The Acer Veriton 6800 family ensures flexibility and scalability to meet future business needs. Reliability, connection versatility and competitive prices guarantee investment profitability.

The Acer Veriton 6800 series will be available through Acer authorized resellers throughout North America with prices starting at $699.
