Elon Musk to provide update about Mars plans on Friday

Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk will be speaking at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Adelaide, Australia on Friday. At the event, he will reveal the latest conceptual version of the Interplanetary Spaceship and Rocket. In the meantime, here's a new set of videos that illustrate his vision. Musk says there are major improvements versus what was shown last year, and hints at some "unexpected applications."

It all still looks a lot like science fiction, but perhaps if everything goes extremely well this is what we can expect in the 2030s? I know Musk wants to do it earlier, but things work differently in Musk time than in reality.
