Elon Musk spoke at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Adelaide, Australia. This was an update about SpaceX's plans to make humanity a multi-planetary race. Last year Musk outlined how he intends to take humans to Mars, not just to plant a flag but to actually stay there, and now there's a progress report in terms of the Mars transportation architecture, the initial goals and the dream to build a self-sustaining colony on Mars. If you want to watch something motivational today, this is probably it.

Musk also revealed SpaceX's research has some applications on Earth too. For example, he illustrated that the BFR (aka Big Fucking Rocket) will be capable of transporting humans to most places on Earth in under 30 minutes and anywhere in under 60 minutes. Pretty cool concept. Musk envisions the cost per seat should be comparable to "full fare economy" in an aircraft.
