Over at CES 2018, Dell will show its new XPS 13 to the world. The reimagined 13" model will be offered in two color options; rose gold with white and black with silver. The 2018 edition of the XPS 13 is thinner and lighter than before, and has a screen bezel of just 4mm. Dell says the new XPS 13 is 3.4mm (30 percent) thinner and starts at just 2.7 pounds (1.22kg).

Computing power is delivered by the Intel Kaby Lake-R series, the systems feature up to 16GB dual-channel LPDDR3 running at 2133MHz and you can equip the laptop with a M.2 SSD of up to 1TB. The base model offers a Full HD IPS-based LCD panel but Dell also offers Full HD and 4K models with a touchscreen. Other features include USB Type-C, a new cooling system, optional fingerprint reader, etc.
As for thermal engineering, XPS 13 is the world’s first laptop built with GORE™ Thermal Insulation, the same silica aerogels that have been used in high-tech science and extreme engineering environments to diffuse and dissipate heat, such as insulation on the Mars Rovers and Hyper Velocity Particle capture in the Stardust Probe. This material directs heat out of the device, keeping your system cool while it works hard.
More details at Dell. The Windows 10 version starts at $999.99 and Dell also offers a version that comes preloaded with Ubuntu for $949.99.
