In his Lightning Talk from UpSCALE at the 2018 Southern California Linux Expo (SCALE), Netflix senior performance architect Brendan Gregg takes a look at what's wrong with the CPU utilization rate metric and why you can't always rely on it to measure performance. Gregg explains %CPU is a misleading measure to check how busy your CPU really is:
