VideoCardz did some calculations based on the 7nm Vega chip photos from Computex and concludes the new chip is likely under 300mm². That's quite a bit smaller than the 14nm Vega chip, which has an official die area of 486mm².
It’s worth reminding you that 14nm Vega dimensions are officially 486 mm2, while measurements from the press gave it a 510-ish mm2 die size. We are going to include this margin of error into our quick calculations and we end up with 285-298 mm2 7nm Vega die size.
At the moment, AMD has only confirmed the 7nm Vega-based Radeon Instinct. There's no sign of an upcoming gaming card based on this chip.
