Freshly leaked slides confirm the earlier rumor about Intel's eight-core processors featuring Solder Thermal Interface Material (STIM). This is something enthusiasts have long bitched about, so it's good to see Intel is finally throwing out the thermal paste. The Core i9-9900K and Core i7-9700K will use solder, but it's not confirmed at this moment whether the six-core Core i5-9600K will also use solder. All three 9th Gen Core CPUs are slated for October, and a Core i5-9400 variant will follow in Q1 2019.

The Core i9-9900K is an eight-core, sixteen-threaded part with a 3.6GHz base clock and a 5.0GHz single-core Turbo mode. It's the only model of the three with Hyper-Threading support. All three parts are unlocked and have Optane support.
